Porch Renovation

Spring is in full swing and summer is right around the corner. After about 2 months off from doing any type of renovation, we decided the next project on the list was getting our screened-in porch ready for the upcoming season.

We knew the space needed a little TLC, but honestly we hadn't really thought too much on exactly what we wanted to do with it. I posted a picture on facebook asking if we should put outdoor carpet back down or stain the wood... and the votes came quick and fast and unanimously for stain! So glad we asked our friends :)

First we needed to paint the walls and the ceiling. We were thankful there was no pre-existing stain/paint that we had to remove, so the biggest decision was what color we were going to do. You might wonder if its hard for JT and I to agree on paint colors/major redesigns/etc... well, it's not. Surprising we work really well together and have very similar taste. So one Friday night we went to Home Depot (it's our idea of "date night" ha.) and picked out the paint colors we wanted to use for the porch. Brick Red for the ceiling and a greyish-white for the walls.

Here's the pics that tell our porch renovation story...

The day we first saw our porch

Time to rip up that awful pink carpet...

The roof was first...

Then the white...

And the finished product...

And now for stain...

And the finished product...

And so for those of you that LOVE before and afters like I do, here it is:

BEFORE

AFTER

And it wouldn't be complete without our table :)
