Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! JT and I enjoyed our first Thanksgiving in Dallas with my parents, and we were sad none of the boys could make it either. Chris was celebrating via Thailand, Sam via East Texas, and Charlie and Kate via Nashville. We miss you all and wish you could've been here too!

Since cooking a feast for 4 isn't the easiest or the most efficient task, my parents decided to take Maggiano's up on their offer to cook a feast for us on Thanksgiving... plus we would get to take the left-over's home! We enjoyed sleeping in on Thanksgiving morning, watching "my" parade, and relaxing till feast time.

Needless to say, we're all stuffed in this photo and happy to be spending the holiday together. Now it's back home to watch football and look through the newspaper for all the Black Friday specials!
Later that night, JT was craving a dessert. Being Thanksgiving, you'd think he'd want a delicious pie or some other festive holiday dessert. Nope. He says, "Stick with the classic, Mace. I'd love some Chocolate Cookies." So here's the evidence of our non-festive dessert eating on Thanksgiving night.

Some friends and I decided the best Black Friday special was one of our outlet malls, Grapevine Mills, and their prompt opening at Midnight that night. We're crazy! None of us came home empty handed... at 4:30am. Yeah for Christmas! Up next.... decorating for The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!!

Mr. & Mrs. Taylor Dodgen

This past weekend we celebrated two of our goods friends getting married. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was delicious... I mean the chocolate cake! Kristin's grandma brought these chocolate pudding cakes all the way from Alabama.... and they were worth every bite!

The Dodgen's are life-long family friends of the Sinclair's and so my parents were there as well.

Congratulations to Taylor and Kristin!

How could I forget the State Fair?

After I finished writing the last posts, something didn't seem complete. I felt like I was leaving out something big... oh yeah, that would be the State Fair of Texas! My first experience of the fair was about 4 years ago, and JT had never been before. There is tons to do at the Fair, and we got our share one afternoon on a Saturday. We ate the famous foot long chili dogs & corny dogs, saw plenty of exhibits and shows, and then I remembered something I saw 4 years ago that I was hoping was still there.... and sure enough, Mr. Pig was right where I left him last time. Pictures can't describe the full amazement or smell of Mr. Pig, so you'll just have to come with us next year and witness for yourself.
He is massive.

Here we are with Big Tex! He runs the show of the State Fair.

Hope to see all y'all with us here next year! Come on down!

Who needs costumes? We've got dessert!

Being in seminary housing brings out the "domestic-ness" in me. I love to bake and what a more perfect excuse to bake something delicious than a holiday? But, Halloween? Yes! Some girlfriends and I decided that we would have a Halloween/Fall dessert party and enjoy the evening with playing games and hanging out. But before we all got together we decided to stay in our apartment and hand out candy to whoever knocked.

It was so much fun having all the kids in the building come by our front door and hold out their bags in anticipation of how much "goods" we would give them. The costumes were great and so clever! After all the kiddos came by, JT and I picked our favorite costumes:
JT's - Astronaut
Mine- Miss Frog & Miss Tadpole (Abbey & her baby sis Olivia)

We're sad we don't have pictures of them to share! But here are some of our fun evening with friends...
Our Dessert Menu:
Peanut Butter Cookies
Sugar Cookies
Everything Cookies
Hummingbird Cake (Like a spice cake)
Pumpkin Bread
Apple Crisp
Coffee/Hot Chocolate

The Girls (Claire, Jenny, Rylin, me, Brooke)

The Boys (Kevin, Will, JT, Joby, Josh) They're so silly.

Is it already November?

Wow, such much happened in October! Last time I mentioned we were headed off to Colorado to celebrate Kathy and Richard's wedding. Well, seeing as that was on October 10th, I've clearly been slacking on my promptness in posting.
The wedding was a blast and we had a wonderful time visiting with friends and family the entire weekend! Here's some pictures do tell of our fabulous time...
